Description: Laparotomy Sponges / Sterile Lap Sponges / Sterile Abdominal Sponges made from 100% surgical grade cotton gauze ideal for high absorption needs and to control bleeding. All sponges are edge stitched and are X-ray detectable in both pre-washed or non-washed options.

Application: Laparotomy sponges come in sizes from 9 × 9 to 36 × 8 inches. They are used mostly during abdominal and thoracic surgery or in deep wounds to absorb fluids; however, they can also be used to "wall off" the surgical site.
